Amber Tisue serves as the Regional ATOD Prevention Coordinator for Southwestern Minnesota in Region 5. Amber received her Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Justice Administration from Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, MN. She previously worked as a Probation Agent for two years with a focus on substance abuse clientele. In 2007, she was part of a team that implemented the Crow Wing County DWI Court Program that started in February of 2008.

Regional Prevention Centers are funded by a federal block grant administered through the State of MN Alcohol and Drug Abuse Division. Each division employs a Regional Prevention Coordinator who, in turn, delivers chemical health prevention and support services at a local level. The Regional Prevention Center of Region 5 is a community focused, prevention based initiative. The RPC seeks to build regional relationships, provide training and technical assistance, and implement a cohesive, statewide prevention effort to build stronger and safer communities. The vision is to create a regional prevention system which identifies, supports, and links communities together in the prevention of alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use.

Amber’s home office as the Region 5 ATOD Prevention Coordinator is located at Project Turnabout in Granite Falls, MN. Project Turnabout was founded as a non-profit organization in 1970 to help people with alcohol and drug use problems and prevention. Turnabout offers a complete continuum of programs that includes prevention and educational programs, outpatient and residential treatment options, extended care, halfway/transitional living, and family services. All are designed to help people find hope, begin recovery, and develop and implement a healthy plan for life.

Amber can assist with training, technical assistance, support, resource materials/ideas, community assessment, data collection and interpretation, coalition building, community mobilization, evaluation, sustainability planning, and strategic planning.
