Cameron serves as the Region 6 Regional ATOD (Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drugs) Prevention Coordinator for Southeast Minnesota with the Minnesota Department of Human Services Behavioral Health Administration (DHS-BHA). In this role, Cameron supports a network of counties, including Dodge, Fillmore, Freeborn, Goodhue, Houston, Mower, Olmsted, Rice, Steele, Wabasha, and Winona, by coordinating statewide prevention efforts aimed at reducing substance misuse and its consequences. His position is central to fostering local collaboration and enhancing the availability of prevention services throughout the region.

As one of eight regional prevention coordinators across Minnesota, Cameron is dedicated to strengthening community capacity for prevention by identifying existing programs, providing technical assistance, and supporting the work of organizations and professionals in the region. He focuses on building and sustaining ATOD prevention coalitions, improving cultural competency, and assisting in areas such as strategic planning, community mobilization, evaluation, and sustainability.

Cameron’s passion for public health and community collaboration drives his efforts to help local agencies enhance their prevention programs. With a Master’s degree from St. Louis University and a Bachelor's degree from the University of North Dakota, Cameron brings a wealth of knowledge and practical experience to his role.

Outside of his professional work, Cameron enjoys spending time with his Labrador and family, taking advantage of the natural beauty that Minnesota has to offer. He is committed to being a valuable resource to organizations and communities as they work together to create lasting, positive changes in the region.

Region 6 Host Site

The Region 6 RPC is hosted by the Parenting Resource Center in Austin MN, a non-profit organization serving Mower and Freeborn Counties in Minnesota. The mission of the Parenting Resource Center is to provide resources, services and prevention education to promote healthy and safe lifestyles for families. The PRC is available to all families, with targeted services to specific populations that include single and divorced parents, low-income families, families challenged with language and cultural barriers, and families whose children have disabilities. www.prc-austinmn.org
